Throughout time, incense has evolved from things like flowers, dried wood, leaves, spices and resin pieces to finely ground up powder that is mixed and dried to form different shapes 

 

Backflow incense, otherwise commonly referred to as waterfall incense or an incense fountain, is a relatively new type of incense.
